Not so many months ago http://www.prettynicedeli.com opened a new lovely little deli and pantry shop on Main Street in St. Helens OR. Brian and Shane Michael took the leap from their jobs in the Portland food industry, to become owner operators of their own establishment. After a few short months they are navigating their way to satisfy the tastebuds of Columbia County.

Continually enhancing the food scene by adding new items and desirable ones that aren’t always easy to find creates a plus sign to the local food. Delicious gourmet products are being sourced and added. Pastas, oils, some specialized canned proteins are arranged on the shelf like art pieces but, the true art is within the hearts and minds of the owners.

The Hogie sandwiches guests are already telling everyone that they, “Must try this new place.” Whether you choose a turkey, egg, pork, beef or any number of other offerings we believe you’ll find it very satisfying. The bread married to meat inspired choices under the veil of the word “sandwich” already have many of fan followers. The production of their own giardiniera wakes up each bite with special flicks of flavor on the palate that would even make the “Earl of Sandwich” take a moment. The blended merriment all wrapped together will support a lifetime of marital happiness between fans and Pretty Nice Deli. One person inside exclaimed, “I’ve already been here twice this week. I can’t help myself. It’s a darn good sandwich.” We responded, “Ah um, you mean pretty nice right?” All humor aside the enthusiasm and faithful following in a very short time for Pretty Nice Deli is clear.

In a couple of weeks Pretty Nice will be adding meals to go. Simply choose and reheat. A welcome addition for anyone that wants quality and tasty flavors at home. Nixing the work, time and shopping list for busy lifestyles is like a sigh of relief. We also found out that charcuterie boards are going to be offered alongside catering options for the holidays and beyond. Pick up boards will inspire anyone who enjoys a fantastic nosh from well sourced and local quality producers. This commitment to quality can be a game changer for any celebration or home party. The convenience alone is fully appreciated, but it’s the sourcing of variety and quality placed strategically upon the board that makes presentation and flavors go from meh to marvelous!
